It’s official…I am an athlete. I have my first sports related “injury”. Well it is not an injury really, but either way it has been hurting! Last night we went to See the Trainer. I told the guy about all my knee problems and he said that it is a classic case of Iliotibial Band Syndrome. I bought a little brace that goes just above my knee and it seems to have stopped the burning pain. We shall see how this whole thing plays out.
Last night for dinner we started with these:
And we made some of these:
To get this:
On my sammy I had lots of greens, pickles, and hot sauce!
Today we have just been running errands and basically doing whatever we want. It has been snowing all day just lightly and not really sticking. I am so sick of the snow!
While we were out we went to lunch at Jason’s Deli. We sometimes find it hard to find a place to eat that we both will be happy with. I don’t want a burger and fries and he doesn’t want a salad. This was a good compromise.
In the bowl:
- apples
- ~Tb of nut mix
- carrots
- onions
- spinach
- broccoli
- cauliflower
- some beans
- sprouts
- hummus
- and probably some other stuff which I can’t remember, but enjoyed eating.
What is up with this hat hair? I think it is time for a haircut!
Enjoy your Saturday!

Becky, I had a IT band problem too when I was training for my marathon. My first problem was old shoes… and secondly, I am terrible at stretching and the physical therapist showed me some good stretches that helped a lot. I hope the trainer guy showed you some good stretches too. And as important as it is to get in your miles, its equally important to allow your body to rest and overcome an injury before it gets worse.
