I have been doing my long run on Friday’s for the past couple of weeks. However, this week I did not run. My knee is really bothering me. Just a dull burning pain that does not seem to go away. I am getting to the point where I might need to get it checked out. We shall see.
This morning I went to Weight Watcher’s to weigh in. To stay a lifetime member you have to weigh in at no more than 2 pounds above your goal weight once a month. I have been a lifetime member at goal weight since May. I used to go to the meetings and weigh in every week to make sure that I was on track. I was getting frustrated by going every week and seeing the weight go up and down each week with no real loss. I know realistically that weight is not static that it is going to go up and down. If I look at the month as a whole I have stayed the same or gone down a bit. I found that I was allowing the weight on the scale to set my tone for the day. So, now I am just going once a month to keep my lifetime status in maintenance. I was however down 2lb from when I weighed in last month.
I would be lying if I said that the number on the scale is not important to me, because it is. However, I am really trying to come to terms with who I am and who I am becoming in this healthy lifestyle. I have to remind myself on a regular basis that the number on the scale does not define me. Sometimes I believe it and sometimes it is harder. Either way I feel like I am a work in progress.
Onto the day….
For breakfast I took this:
I made a chocolate banana smoothie. In the mix was…
- Amazing Grass Packet
- 1 cup almond milk
- half a banana
- 2 cups crushed ice
- 1/2 tsp xantham gum
- 1/2 tsp guar gum
The gums don’t add flavor, they however make your smoothie thick! I got the idea for the gums from HEAB and Deb.
Since it is Friday that means pancakes!
I did a repeat chicken fajita salad from last night. No cali bowl since my big one was in the dishwasher.
This time I used a pyrex bowl instead.
This afternoon with some time on my hands and since I was not exhausted from running I made some oatmeal raisin cookies. I have been craving these all week!
Have I ever told you how much I love my Kitchenaid mixer? Best invention for the kitchen ever! I have two bowls and two blades so that I can switch out recipes without having to stop to wash the bowl. I also made some pudding (in the other bowl, not with the cookies!)
Hope you all enjoy your Friday and have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
