Long Run Day

Let me first start off by saying that I woke up this morning feeling much better than I did last night.  It may of had something to do with falling asleep at like 9pm.  I could have slept in this morning, but oh no my eyes popped open before 7.  I suppose that is ok as I had enough sleep.  I was hungry for sure, but I wanted to get my weigh in done and I don’t like to weigh before I stand on the scale (OCD?)  I just like to know that the number on the scale is me, empty.  I knew the results as I weighed myself before I left, I was going to be up a bit.  And I was up, 1lb.   Honestly, I will say I am a bit frustrated as I have been running and working out a lot, but then I quiet that bit of insanity in my head by saying it is just a number.  The number on the scale does not define me.  My worth is not decided by the number on the scale.    It is what it is.  Another truth is that I am actually happy with the weight that I currently am at, however I would not mind losing 10 more pounds.  If I did lose the 10 I would be at 50 percent of my original starting weight.  Then again I will not allow my happiness be defined by the number on the scale!

I then came home to make PANCAKES!  I used the beloved HEAB recipe (like I usually do).  I added some hazelnut flavoring to this batch.

Fuel for the run!

  • Protein Pancakes with pumpkin and hazelnut flavoring
  • Naturally More Peanut Butter
  • WW yogurt (amaretto cheesecake, my favorite flavor), topped with Fiber One and Kashi Go Lean
  • Hawaiian Macadamia Nut Coffee from the beloved HOB

I allowed myself to have a morning of leisure and to let the pancakes settle a bit.  I curled up under a blanket on the couch with Molly at my side.  We did some interneting and I was putting off the long run.  I had been letting it grow into a monster thinking that I might not be able to run the distance.  Look where I found some inspiration! I met Andrea when I was doing BeautiControl and doing in home spas.  Even though I don’t know her on a personal level I do know she has an amazing family, a great group of friends, and her own business.  It makes me wish I had a little girl to dress up!  Thank you Andrea, finding this pushed me to go out in the arctic and hit the gym.

Hit the gym is exactly what I did!  The good news is that I did the 4 mile run!  I do not know why I let this run psych me out, but it sure did.  Here is the breakdown….

  • 4 mile run
  • time 46:38
  • only one walking period of a total of 2 minutes!

Holy Moly!  I DID IT!  This was only .5 mile longer than my last long run, but it still seemed quite a bit longer.  I was so happy with my time and the little bit of walking.  Today I ran 31% of what I will run in May.  There are little rays of hope that make me think that I will be able to do it!

Then it was home for a leftover lunch!

Leftover Love

  • Black Beans and Rice (with chicken) topped with salsa
  • Mixed veggies topped with Frank’s Red Hot
  • Clementines

After I ate this I passed out on the couch!  Seriously, my tailbone is screaming tonight!  EEK!  Anyone else know when they had the best sleep of their life when you wake up and have to wipe the spittle away?  I know it is gross, but I know you are nodding your head as you read this!

Molly and I were ready for a snack!

We had popcorn!  I always have to remind her to be a lady and keep her head out of the bowl!  Hope you have a good Friday night!  Kevin and I are going out to dinner for his birthday.  My mouth is already watering for BoneFish grill!  I will be sure to post the tasty photos!

  1. Yes, I love those naps when you wake up drooling – the best!

What a great morning, pancakes, coffee, and a good workout! Perfect. :)

Hope you had a fun night out with Kevin. I’ve never been to Bonefish Grill, but I hear it is so good.
