Merry Christmas to ALL!
I hope this post finds you all very content, warm, loved, and well taken care of. It is my wish that everyone had as blessed of a Christmas as I have experienced this year! If you are a regular reader you know that we celebrate roughly 6 Christmas celebrations a year due to both sets of parents being divorced and remarried. Here is the recap of the last half of our celebrations!
Yesterday I did not have to work so I enjoyed some Bikram yoga and my last WW weigh in for the year! I was down 3.2lb from my previous weigh in (2 weeks ago). I attribute the weigh lost to honestly tracking and the combination of running and yoga. I swear that Bikram yoga will make you lose 2lb in sweat alone!
When I got home I had to pack our bags for our overnight trip to Lincoln. But, look….another package in the mail.
I can honestly say this is the very best thing that has ever arrived for me in the mail! I am such a huge fan of the mail, but sometimes when you dream big amazing things arrive via FedEx, UPS, or the good ole post!
We then were headed for Lincoln for the annual Clouston Christmas. What was on the dinner menu?
Seriously though? What was for dinner?
If you are from Nebraska then you have probably had Val’s. This has become a tradition as not all of the Clouston family lives in Nebraska. I really like the crust, of the pizza but that is about it. Thankfully Kevin shared his crust with me!
We stayed the night in Lincoln and were planning on heading back to Omaha first thing. When we woke up though we found that it had snowed more than we had expected. We figured we would have a quiet morning and open up our gifts with the small family. (if you are keeping track then this would be #5) Trevor, Kevin’s younger brother did an amazing job of picking out a perfect present for him.
I got another gadget for the kitchen!
Then it was time to head out into the winter abyss and try to make it to Christmas at my mom’s house. What should have been a 1 hour journey took about 2.5 hours. The snow was deep. I got hungry.
The roads looked like this, and at least 2 feet of packed snow with drifts at least hip high!
We arrived safely back in Omaha in order to get to my Mom and Mark’s for Christmas #6. I was famished by the time we walked through the door and I think I inhaled the veggie platter all by myself. It helped tide me over till we got to this.
While Christmas fajitas may seem a bit odd to you, eating so many Christmas dinners can really wear a person down. However, Feliz Navidad is one way to perk it right back up!

My plate had a shrimp and a chicken fajita with a side salad. This looks huge because I like to eat off smaller plates.
After dinner, drinks, presents (where I got the Garmin I had been salivating over) we headed back into the snow to come home. We are lucky that we live close and this trip home took less than 10 minutes. Yeah! When we got home we had our final Christmas, lucky #7!
I think they are my favorite because of all the little bits and bobbles you get in there. Like some Amazing Grass powder ( I am so excited to try this!) and some perfume that Kevin had hand blended for me! I love Christmas! It is full of hope, promise, the renewed spirit, love, and extravagance that would never be proper any other time of the year.
Speaking about extravagance….
It was so cute how excited he got when he unwrapped it. The gift was given with only one stipulation: He is not allowed to shoot the gun at Molly:) A deal was struck, the box was ripped open, batteries were installed, and a wall was assaulted with flying foam!
I know the post was super long, but that is our Christmas in 2009 wrap up! I feel very blessed to have such a great family on both sides and to be honest a little bit too spoiled by the extravagance that was bestowed upon us this year. I hope all of you had a special day! I look forward to showing off all of my new kitchen gadgets while trying out some new recipes!
